Dogfish Head Olde School barley wine. Bad photo as it is a murky cooper color. Not an easy beer to drink, nor should it be at 15%. Leaves a nice whiskey like burn after ever sip. Not too much but earthy notes from the nose but my fucking nose is stuffed up. Actually I probably shouldn’t be drinking this until I’m feeling better. Oh well. Tonight it is my cough medicine. And what a delicious, oak aged tasting medicine it is. I can’t recommend this one if you never had a barley wine as it is extremely subtle like a good wine I can’t appreciate. But as it opens more it becomes dryer and its complexity comes out. I may age my second bottle…unless of my fucking cough keeps me up all night.
